| Happy New Year!
i just started playing thru Four Swords Adventures with my brother again... no new Zelda game for Chrismas... means play the old ones again. Right now, we are at location 2-2, Village of the Blue Maiden, the first Light World/Dark World location... it's qute annoying when you need to find all of the inspectors... especially when you need all of the moon pearls. on occasion, i've taken my brothers dummy character(purple), and used him and blue(my dummy) to hold a key and a pearl, so i have the invincible key-holder for 100 force gems, and i have first transport to the dark world... and he cant take them from me while they hold items...
Kaepora Gaebora is as annoying as ever...
an update for my Final Fantasy Tactics Advance clan... i have all five racial masters... a squad of five that i traded into this game has mastered all of their jobs. the first was the Nou Mou, it has the most job/ability/weapon overlap... the next one done was the Bangaa, i was missing one item, and had to trade it in, then the Viera, missing two items, and the Moogle, missing five, i think, and finally the human, which needed the most time to master all of the abilities that i was missing, all of which were on the weapons and other items the other races needed... and using my cartridge and my brother's, i can clone them as many times as neccesary  | | |
| i was going to post earlier to day, but i had a power outage...
i fixed a bug in my desktop's keyboard ... an app (KeyCaps, OS X) registered the keystrokes from my number pad, but nowhere else did they register... even in KeyCaps, they did not generate the characters... it was really irritating. i was able to fix the problem-- it was a software issue, not hardware-- by deleting a file in my Preferences folder... somehow it was corrupted... using the keyboard on my laptop (before it died recently) let me know that it was software issues
i'm gaining new respect for Adult Link (Link) in SSB:M... he's a heavier hitter, and his trophy says he's a slow-mover, but he's quick enough... he *is* slower than Young Link, but that is halfway expected cause he's heavier, but i think between him and Mario, Link may be faster... the trophy says the bigger sword (Master Sword) and the Hylian Shield make him slower... not really. also, the special equipment he uses goes farther than his younger self's...
also, from a reply to the readability, i am lightening up the font color so it shows both on the white and black bg's | | |

while my desktop has many points in favor of it (50 more MHz, bigger screen, more HD space, working built-in speakers,...), i really miss having the portablity...
in other news, i played completely thru Four Swords Adventure with my bro... quickly racked up the 99 Force Faries... after going thru the whole campaign, we faced off in Shadow Battle.. i won 9 out of 10 rounds (one each level), and played all 8 of Tingle's minigames.. the fat-lady ball game had a comic ending... we both tied for misses, and were both hit upside the head...
i also taught him the air- and ground- dodges in Super Smash Bros.: Melee... the L or R in midair, or the smash left/right and L or R on the graound... he likes super sudden death mode... he was better than me... not much longer tho... | | |
